BEIJING DANCE THEATER was founded 2008 by Yuanyuan Wang in cooperation with the light designer Han Jiang and the set designer Tan Shaoyuan. Together, they created on one hand China´s first contemporary dance ensemble and on the other a hitherto completely unknown constellation of dance organization.
The BEIJING DANCE THEATER consists of 12-18 dancers, all trained in classical ballet.
The great repertoire of the company connects the traditional Chinese culture and dance with classic ballet and contemporary forms of movement. For a couple of years, the BEIJING DANCE THEATER also commissions choreographies out of the country like f.e. Monalita Chen by Marcos Morau.
