Many years ago, a young ballerina named Ludmilla Chiriaeff, the daughter of Russian immigrants, left Berlin and settled in Montréal to fulfill her dream of teaching and sharing her love of dance.
1957 - Now known as Madame Chiriaeff, she created the GRANDS BALLETS CANADIENS DE MONTRÉAL (LGBC), the first professional ballet company in the province of Quebec.
LGBC has become a world-renowned creative venue for productions. Under the modern direction of Ivan Cavallari, they devote themselves to researching and modernizing the ballet in all its forms. At the same time, the ensemble remains true to the spirit of classical technique. Thus, LGBC enthused the audience at home and abroad worldwide.
