About the Company

nThe Company was founded in 2010 and exist as a cooperation between the Bayerisches Staatsballett, the Ballet-Academy Munich, the University for Music and the Performing Arts, as well as the Heinz-Bosl-Foundation.

Over the nearly seven years since its founding, the young ensemble has built a wide repertoire of classical, neoclassical and contemporary ballets, ranging this season from Marius Petipa to George Balanchine and Davide Bombana. From modern dance into the style of Nacho Duato and Richard Seagal to works by young choreographers like Dustin Klein, who are part of the ensembles themselves.

The Company is also dancing one of the most successful ballets, a legacy of classical modernism - Oskar Schlemmer's legendary Triadisches Ballett in Gerhard Bohner's version from 1977. Sponsored by the KSB, it is a co-production with the Academy of ARts in Berlin, which has preserved the magnificent costumes for years.

With the Season 2017/2018 the Bayerisches Staatsballett 2 has been renamed into BAYERISCHES JUNIOR BALLETT MÜNCHEN.
